HY9632 is a robust, lightweight shell and cup designed FFP3 NR D respirator that protects against hazardous dusts and mists as well as passes the highest requirements of Fit Testing. This model has been certified by the world-renowned BSI.

Low-resistance filter technology helps you breathe easily. The braided, colour-coded headbands help you identify the protection level offered: white for FFP3. This respirator is individually packed in hygienic wrapping to protect against contamination.

The wide dual-welded adjustable braided headbands secure the respirator comfortably to your face, allowing a personal fit. Furthermore, the full inner face seal is soft and cushioned to help you wear it for long periods without discomfort.

A preformed nose bridge provides a comfortable fit to eliminate the need for regular adjustment.

This respirator is completely Metal free and is suitable for food and pharmaceutical industries.

Dolomite Tested
Dolomite (D) is an additional EN149 test to check whether the mask maintains a good level of breathing resistance after being subjected to high levels of dolomite dust. This means the "D" suffix is a quality indicator for the filter material used and ensures that a mask can be worn in high levels of very fine dust environments, for a period of time much longer than FFP3 respirators that are not Dolomite tested, even beyond the 8-hour limit at which other FFP3 respirators must be disposed of. Furthermore, breathing comfort is better and therefore fatigue is lower for the user. 

Ear loop masks cannot pass Fit Testing
Please be weary of "FFP3" models that come with ear loops. These "FFP3 KN95" models are not respirators and they cannot pass Fit Testing as they do not have headbands and cannot make a tight seal. This report by Dr Jay Park (even though for the FDA, it still holds the same relevance in the UK) explains that:

"The majority of the KN95 have earloops which creates a looser seal. While these respirators may have proof of testing of KN95 grade quality in China, this is the test of just the respirator (the vault door) and NOT the seal (door frame). We have already imported several of these low-quality respirators and have found that the fit is poor and the elastic is too loose to pass a hospital fit testing. Many of us using N95 respirators are face to face with coughing or vomiting patients. We want the quality respirators with the tightest seal and not any respirator that will let the thief into the bank vault. This is why many health care workers have a mask-shaped bruise or line on their faces."

"People have different ear sizes and distances from the face to the ear. While the quality of the respirator material may provide 95% filtration, the seal is inadequate to pass the fit testing on most medical providers. Most KN95 ear loop respirators might be adequate for civil use, but the seal may not be good enough for medical use."

FFP2 and FFP3 differences

  • Reduces the wearer’s exposure to airborne particles by a factor of 10 (protection factor on passing fit testing).
  • Hazardous fine dusts, water and oil based mists/aerosols, biological agents of risk group 2: Toxic dusts, aluminum oxide, bauxite, borax, brick dust, cement, gypsum, calcium oxide, concrete dust, granite, lead dust and fume, mould, wood dust (softwood), zinc oxide fume

FFP3 (in addition to FFP2):

  • Reduces the wearer’s exposure to airborne particles by a factor of 20 (protection factor on passing fit testing).
  • Harmful and carcinogenic dusts, water and oil based mists/ aerosols, biological agents of risk group 2 and 3, cmr-substances. Based on FFP2 but at higher concentrations, plus carcinogenic substances, ceramic fibres, brake dust, chromates, chromium, cobalt, nickel, wood dust (hardwood), micro organisms, radioactive and biochemical active aerosols, enzymes, viruses

    EN149:2001 + A1:2009
    These products meet the requirements of the European Standard EN149:2001 + A1:2009, filtering facepiece respirators for use against particles. They should be used to protect the wearer from solid and non-volatile liquid particles only.

    Performance tests in this standard include filter penetration; extended exposure (loading) test; flammability; breathing resistance and total inward leakage.
